VINEYARD, Sacramento County — The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a separate mining-related entitlement package in the Vineyard planning area on January 13, 2026, according to the county’s project database.
The official record, PLNP2024-00068, identifies the Aspen VIII & IX Use Permit Amendment at 9932 Jackson Road. The proposal sought changes to the permitted mine boundary, reclamation plan and development agreement.
What did the vote establish?
The county lists a Planning Commission recommendation in October 2025 followed by a 5–0 Board of Supervisors approval on January 13. A board decision is a real government action, but does not by itself show when physical mining changes began, whether all state or regional permits were issued, or when reclamation will occur.
Why the distinction matters
Vineyard has multiple proposed or permitted aggregate mining projects. This Aspen VIII & IX project is not the same as the Vineyard South Mine expansion approved in May 2026. Residents tracking land-use impacts, haul routes or rehabilitation commitments should use the correct project number and adopted conditions.
For parcel-specific questions, consult Sacramento County Planning’s final documents, any permit conditions and official public-record channels. The project’s online status field may lag behind recorded hearing actions.
